New idea picture essay
Here I started my photography essay by trying to connect each image with each other to create a flowing image essay.
My idea change
When putting together my test shots on how body language can show opinion on a political view I decided that to put this clear to a viewer on a photograph it will be hard because of my low skills and understanding on how to create a good photo.
I decided to change my idea and go for something that still involves my ideas on body language, but in a way that I will be able to make a clear essay within these 6 pictures. So I started to focus alter egos and how you want to behave when you are doing something you don't want to do. I started to do some test shots on what my new idea to see how it would work and how it would come out in a picture.

To try an create this alter ego feel to my photos I tried to edit them in photoshop by overlapping layers and playing with the fill and opacity. Then end result I came up with an image I wasn't happy with because I wanted so bits to be less transparent then the other.

I decided to watch some tutorials and ask for some peer feedback to develop my skills in photoshop to help with my final piece.
My attempt on test shots
When researching different photographers and looking at different photographs, I decided to try some test shots creating my own political picture using body language of a person to show their emotion or opinion on a certain place.
Photographers inspiration 2 (Eddie Adams)
Another photographer I started researching was Eddie Adams who was an American photographer and was born on June 12th 1933. Adams also focuses on political pictures and covered 13 different wars.
Adams has one very famous photograph was a picture during the Vietnam war, of a police chief General Nguyen Ngoc Loan executing a Vietcong prisoner, Nguyen Van Lem, on a Saigon street.

Like everyone else I liked the mention this picture gives off as well as what this photo means for people in and during the Vietnam war. Body language was another aspect I looked into with this photo as well as the facial expressions on each face in this photo.
Photograph introduction
When first coming into this course I had no external knowledge of picture taking. I believe this module will challenge me and my skills that I have picked up by doing personal projects and family photos. In other modules this year i have worked closely with more understanding for a Z1 camera understanding its film features to create a professional look final piece. Here are a few photos i took fro projects or for my own personal camera photo album.
Photographers inspiration (Marc Riboud)
When looking throughout my work and feedback from my idea presentation I wanted to focus more on body language. I was also told to look into representation, culture and identity when planning for my final piece. From this I started to look into different photographers that use body language in their photos.
From my research I found the photographer Marc Riboud who is a french photographer and was born 24th June 1923. He is most known for his extensive reports on the East: The Banners of China, Face of North Vietnam, Visions of China, and in China.
A photo that grabbed my attention was this image
I liked this image and what it represents, I see someones opinion on what is going on the contrast between piece and war in one picture. I liked the fact that Riboud showed the contrast to show the women's taste and actions on whats going on.
Another photo that caught my attention was this one below because of the actions that is being taken place in this photo compared to the body language on their faces.
The fact that they see these weapons as toys and a means of laughter creates a tense feel to this photograph, showing how the the effects with war has in the country on the kids that are growing up around it. Showing a weird contrast of fun and death within this picture,
Independent business (Task)
For a task we were told to go photograph an independent business as well as the owner and what he is doing, as well as some of the costumers in the shop. Are group choose a book store called Brighton Books, which is located in the North lanes. The shop seemed really quirky and caught the eye due to its bright colour for the exteria of the shop. The owner was also friendly and welcomed us in creating a comfortable place for us to take pictures in.
Because we were unavailable to get a D700 out for this task we had to resort and use are phones which showed a poor quality of the pictures,

Close ups of nature
To try and learn more about the different settings on the camera I decided to go back out and capture more man vs nature pictures to use close ups and focus pulls.
I also wanted to focus on how to position the camera to shoot a picture with perfect light without using a flash gun.

Looking into Ubiquitous photograph and how it effects my final piece.
I started looking into ubiquitous photography when creating little side projects to help with my final project. I started looking into how people take photos of them self and I stated looking into how their body language is more comfortable then when photos are being taken of them.

As you can see from these pictures of Ella that were taken by herself, she seems very confident and also continues a certain pose that she feels comfortable in, which shows through the picture.

However, in these pictures the photos were taken of Ella, she seems less comfortable using her phone or swearing to try and get me to stop taking the picture os her.
Ubiquitous photograph and web series 3.0 (presentation)
Researching and creating this powerpoint helped me progress further in my idea, due to the expansion in todays technology that has gathered young people into the tec world. My project can benefit from this information because of the relationship they have with the camera when it is being taken of them, compared to selfies that people take and feel better about.
