Close ups

Going back to the sample shots of Man Vs Nature i started to play around with the close ups and how they effect the look of a picture.

Bouncing the light

Here I played around with how light (Flash) looked when used straight on when taking a picture compared to bouncing the light and hitting the object from a different side. This lowered the brightness of the picture by lowering the whiteness that the flash gave to her face.

When looking more into the two pictures i felt like the flash gave a different message and mood when looking at it. Ellas look gave off a more sharper look, which could be a technique to use or a way to highlight a certain feature. In this case Ella's eyes stand out more to a viewer of this picture.

This created a more natural looking photo, allowing the light which was being bounced to lighten the golden tones of her hair without washing out the picture althogther.

Flash

Here a few test shots from the taster sessions of using flash, as seen by the pictures we tried to use flash in different settings to see how it turned out.

The pictures that were taken inside in a darker room turned out blurry as well as washed out due to the flash being to close to what we were taking a picture of. We then tried to bounce the light and using flash outside in a lighter enviroment which worked better and the quality of the picture showed this.

Here the light is even and creates an even looking picture.

Focus pull

With the practice pictures done in class, I tired to focus on different techniques I could use to highlight different messages in different pictures. Here are a few examples that I did to try and capture the different focus pulls.

Man Vs Nature

With these pictures we followed a theme of Man Vs Nature, hoping to use different techniques to capture my own meaning of this theme with the location we were at (Falmer village).
Each picture shows a different look on my approach to this theme capturing the workings that are going on and hanging the way nature is and how is looks.

Focusing on my technique and look at this picture I still do not have the hang of the different settings like aperture on the camera as their is no colour to sky and its just white and bleeds into the trees. However, I wanted to capture how a building site was placed and is disturbing and changing nature.

I also tried to look at focus and zoom to show the importance of twhat im trying to capture compared to the bright orange traffic slide placed by man. Using a focus pull I tried to show what you have to look pass.
